Partha Sengupta elected Chairman of CII Jharkhand Council

Jamshedpur, Mar 25 (UNI) Partha Sengupta, Vice President Corporate Services, Tata Steel, was elected Chairman, CII Jharkhand Council at the annual state meeting of Jharkhand Council of CII held here today.

Mr P C Srivastava, Managing Director, Tayo Rolls, has been elected the Vice Chairman, CII Jharkhand Council for 2008-09.

Mr Sanjiv Paul, immediate past Chairman, CII Jharkhand Council, addressed the CII Members on the occasion and reviewed activities of the CII Jharkhand Council for 2007-08.

In his address, Mr Paul spoke about CII Jharkhand Council's focus and role in infrastructure development as one of the pre-requisites for augmenting development in the state.

Addressing the members, Mr Sandipan Chakravorty,Deputy Chairman, CII(Eastern Region), informed that affirmative action, corporate engagement on disability and technical education were some of the key areas in which CII was engaged and requisite support was required from all the members towards their implementation.

Mr Sengupta,the newly elected Chairman of CII Jharkhand Council, assured members that the new council would make concerted efforts in the areas mentioned by Mr Chakrovorty with a focus on infrastructure development and policy issues for all round development of Jharkhand.

He said development would be incomplete without support of small and medium entreprenuers(SMEs).
