Market for BMC employees inaugurated
Mumbai, Mar 25 (UNI) A special 'Paalika Bazar', started by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) employees to cater to the corporation's employees at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) office, was inaugurated today by the Municipal Commissioner Jairaj Phatak and the city Mayor Dr Shubha Raul.
The 'Paalika Bazar' or the Municipal Employees Consumer Co-operative Society Limited, which is situated opposite CST station, will have good quality products at discount rates.
After the inauguration, Mr Phatak said, ''The Paalika Bazar is a good concept and if it is successful, we will start many more such bazars.'' The employees of the corporation can avail of the benefits of the BMC market, by becoming a member of the consumer society.
They can buy the goods at discount rates and make the payments in monthly installments.
Dr Raul said, ''The corporation has a bank for the employees and the market will also benefit them as they can get every household items here under a single roof.'' The municipal market, which will be manned by the BMC employees, is also open for citizens, who wish can avail of the benefits.
