Industrial unit of Aurobindo Ashram burgled

Puducherry, Mar 25 (UNI) Burglers gained entry into an industrial unit owned by the Aurobindo Ashram here and decamped with cash to the tune of Rs 1.5 lakh.

Police said a company 'Creation Constructs,' engaged in manufacturing of household equipment, used to settle salary to the employees on a weekly basis. They withdrew money from the bank on last Saturday, disbursed salary and kept the balance in the locker.

When the office was opened this morning, the workers found the locker broken and the cash missing.

On a complaint from Company Manager Goutham Chatterjee, Muthialpet police registered a case. Sniffer dogs were also pressed into service.
