CPI to galvanise party units at grassroot level
Hyderabad, Mar 25 (UNI) CPI National Council Secretary S Sudhakar Reddy today emphasised the need to take concrete measures to galvanise the party at the grassroot level.
Introducing the report on organisation at the party's 20th national conference here, he said the party had been implementing its political ideology in right earnest. It was necessary that the units remain active throughout the year, he added.
Stating that the units did not meet regularly in several places, he said annual conferences of unit secretaries and conduct of training camps, would augur well for party members.
Mr Reddy said measures to streamline process for collection of levy and membership fee was also necessary.
He said fund collection campaign was conducted annually in Kerala, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, but other states do not conduct such campaigns.
He said the party needed adequate full-time workers and it should collect funds to develop organisational structure of the party.
Mr Reddy said issues like cadre policy, building mass organisations and sale of party journals and literature needs an improvement. The party had daily newspapers in five States, he added.
He said steps should be taken to improve ideological and political understanding among party members, as well as the public.
