Central assistance to Assam under ARWSP
New Delhi, Mar 25 (UNI) The Union Rural Development Ministry has granted Rs 64.55 crore to Assam government as first instalment of Central Share of Rs 143.44 crore to tackle 3092 water quality- affected rural habitations.
The grant is under the Revised Sub Mission Programme of Water Quality under Rajiv Gandhi National Drinking Water Mission (RGNDWM)-a Centrally Sponsored Programme of Accelerated Rural Water Supply Programme (ARWSP) during the current financial year (2007-08).
The State Government will ensure to provide State share for implementation of projects and revised guidelines on Sub-Mission of water quality shall be followed.
