5247 Income Generating units being set up in Kulgam

Srinagar, Mar 25: An amount of Rs 71.76 crore loan was being provided to unemployed people for setting up Income Generating (IG) units in the newly created Kulgam district in south Kashmir, an official spokesman said today.

He said as many as 5247 IG units are being set up in the district with a loan facility of Rs 71.76 crore by different financial institutions. He said this information was given at a meeting of officers and bankers held here today to review achievements under annual credit action plan. It was informed that under agriculture sector loan of Rs 18.92 crore has been disbursed while under industries sector, Rs 10.07 crore are being provided.

Reviewing last year's achievements, it was informed that 4853 profitable units were set up with an investment of Rs 25.57 crore in the district.
