Tibetan monks launch 3-day protest at Azad Maidan
Mumbai, Mar 24 (UNI) Over 600 Tibetan monks have launched a three-day protest at the Azad Maidan here against the Chinese government.
Tibetan Rights Branch Committee spokesperson Lobsang alleged that the Chinese government is suppressing the freedom of expression of the Tibetans and arresting them.
The monks have urged the United Nations Organisation to appoint an international fact-finding committee in Tibet to know the ''cause of unrest in the peaceful mountain region''.
The monks have also appealed to the world to boycott the 2008 Olympics to be held in China ''if Chinese authorities do not respect and improve basic human rights in China and Tibet''.
