Probe in New Year's eve molestation case continuing: Patil
Mumbai, Mar 24 (UNI) Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil today told the Legislative Council that investigations into the molestation of two NRI girls near a posh hotel in Juhu here on New Year's eve was still continuing.
Replying to a question by Sanjay Dutt (Cong) and others, he said investigations are still on. The police had earlier arrested 14 people, who were later granted bail, Mr Patil informed.
All the 14 were arrested on the basis of photographs clicked by media persons, he added.
Mr Patil further said the girls were brought to the police station by a traffic police officer and, later, a case was registered on a complaint lodged by a media person as the victims had refused to lodge the same.
He told the House that few more persons are wanted in the case and would be booked soon.
Earlier, Mr Dutt and others said the incident had brought disrepute to the city and demanded strict action from the police to curb such incidents in future.
