No proposal to exclude any community from BC list
Hyderabad, Mar 24 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Backward Classes Minister M Mukesh Goud today made it clear that there was no proposal before the Government to exclude any community from the list of the Backward Classes (BC).
Replying to the debate on demands for the BCs welfare in the State Assembly, he said it was the previous TDP Government which had promulgated an order providing for a decennial review of the status of the caste groups in the Backward Classes.
He dismissed as far from truth, the opposition claim that the Government was planning to exclude four caste groups from the BCs list.
Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had taken up with the Centre the issue of providing reservation for BCs in promotions too, he informed.
Asserting that the Congress Government was committed to provide scholarships to all BC students based on saturation concept, he said the Government would provide all infrastructural facilities in the BC hostels after assessing the needs by conducting ''Sankhema bata''.
