Miscreants attack former minister's car

Puducherry, Mar 24 (UNI) Unidentified miscreants today attacked the car of PMC founder leader and former Puducherry Minister P Kannan.

According to PMC sources, P Kannan was returning to his house after attending a funeral in his car. As the vehicle reached Reddiyarpalayam, two youths, who came riding a motorcycle, attacked the vehicle damaging one of the view glasses.

Reddiyarpalayam police have registered a case on a complaint by his driver.

Protesting the attack, the Puducherry Munnetra Congress announced a six-hour bandh from 1800 hrs today.

Party spokesman K Lakshminarayanan MLA, while addressing the party workers at a demonstration in front of the head post office against milk price hike, announced the bandh and said as a bandh call for tomorrow would affect the students taking exams, including the tenth standard, the party had decided to organsie a six-hour bandh today.

The party workers would stop vehicular traffic and force shops to close down, he added.
