GESIA announces awards for excellence in ICT industry
Ahmedabad, Mar 24 (UNI) With a view to recognize and encourage deserving companies in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector in Gujarat, The Gujarat Electronics and Software Industries Association (GESIA) has instituted the annual 'GESIA Awards-2007' that will be presented this year on March 28 at The Grand Bhagwati Hotel here.
These Awards will not only honour the stalwarts and emerging entities of the sector, but also raise the bar of the state's role and significance in the ICT industry, GESIA President Mr Rajan Vasa said.
Talking to mediapersons here today, Mr Vasa said, ''The GESIA will recognize some of the top performing Gujarat based companies and also acknowledge valuable contributions made by the non-Gujarat based companies, having operations in Gujarat in the ICT Industry.'' He said, ''An eminent jury will decide the awards by screening the applications received.'' The jury comprises Mr Navin Agrawal, Ex-Director, APMC, Mr Sunil Parekh, Advisor of CRISIL, and Janak Parikh, President of Ahmedabad Management Association, Mr Vasa said, adding that the GESIA awards will certainly bring more awareness about ICT Industry within Gujarat as well as at the national level.
