Five Maoist women arrested in Bengal
Kolkata, Mar 24 (UNI) Five suspected Maoist women, arrested on the city's southern fringe yesterday, were today remanded to police custody by a court.
Police said they were arrested at Bagha Jatin railway station late last night while putting up posters supporting Maoist activities.
The women were identified as Bishnupriya Vaidya, Puja Mondal, Manju Mondal, Kanika Debnath and Minu Sau.
All of them were residents of the city and the adjoining Salt Lake area.
The arrest took place after the local people informed police about their activities.
