Fair at Baba Garibnath's samadhi sthal

Shajapur (MP), Mar 24: A 15-day fair will get underway at the 'samadhi sthal (final resting place)' of Baba Gairbnath in Malwa region's Avantipur Badodia, 50 km from this district headquarters, on the occasion of Rang Panchami on March 26.

According to legend, the place used to the capital of Raja Mordhwaj. Baba Garibnath arrived here about two centuries ago, became a permanent resident and took 'samadhi' in 1801.

He is remembered for his service to poor and healing several devotees from deadly diseases.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan worshipped at the samadhi two years back and announced that the Culture Department would organise programmes every Rang Panchami.
