DHBVN to have dedicated transformers, energy audit

Chandigarh, Mar 24 (UNI) For giving reliable power supply at better voltage level, the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam has decided to provide dedicated transformers to all low tension (LT) industrial and non-domestic (NDS) consumers with connected load greater than 20 KW,by April 30, 2008 under a crash programme.

A spokesman of DHBVN said here today that the meter reading of the consumer shall include two readings --- one of the consumer meter and the other of the distribution transformer (DT) meter, so as to ensure proper energy audit.

He said here today that in future, the new connections of LT industries and NDS category, of above 20 KW load, would also be released with dedicated distribution transformer with meter as per the new guidelines.

The existing and prospective industrial connections of saw mills, Ice factories, Ice candies, Ice cream units, plastic items, rubber items, insulating sleeves, Oil expeller, electroplating, Power coating, heat treatment, municipal committees, public health, Government Hospitals and Rice Mills shall also be provided with independent distribution transformers irrespective of their load.
