DAN to continue as facilitator of peace process
Kohima, Mar 24 (UNI) Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today said that the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) will continue its committed role of being an active facilitator to bring peace and unity among the Naga people.
Rio, in his Budget speech, said the DAN has already constituted a Political Affairs Committee, which will liaison with all the sections of the people and both overground and underground outfits.
He said that the state government is not a party of the ongoing negotiations as the dialogue is between the Centre and outfits.
However, the DAN government will leave no stone unturned to create a congenial atmosphere to enable a logical and permanent peace solution.
''The cry of the people is for peace and must be heeded to by all sections that are directly or indirectly involved in the peace process,''Mr Rio said.
Fratricides must come to an end so that the Naga family works towards oneness, he said.
Social turmoil has disturbed environment and halted economic growth and progress of the state for long.
