Dalai Lama in Delhi for teaching not meetings: Office
New Delhi, Mar 24 (UNI) The Dalai Lama, the Tibetan spiritual leader, is in Delhi for ''teaching'' and not any political meetings, his office in the national capital said today.
''The Dalai Lama is in Delhi for teaching. He would be here till March 28. There are no meetings lined up,'' said Tenpa Tsering, the representative of the Dalai Lama in Delhi.
Mr Tsering, who heads the Dalai Lama's bureau in Delhi, told UNI that since Saturday, he has been teaching ''The Practice and Stages of Meditation'' to a group of people from across the world at a hotel here.
He also dismissed reports suggesting that the Dalai Lama was scheduled to meet Vice-President Hamid Ansari.
''There are no such meetings lined up,'' Mr Tsering reiterated.
New Delhi had earlier clarified that the Vice-President had no plans to meet the Dalai Lama, the leader of the Tibetan government-in-exile.
