CPI(M) Panchayat member arrested in Bengal
Basirhat, Mar 24 (UNI) A CPI(M) Panchayat member was today arrested along with two of his associates from Makalgachha under Hasnabad Block in North 24 Parganas district for allegedly carrying arms.
Police said the arrest was made when they assembled at the area with arms.
Police said the arrested had an alleged plan to attack Trinamool Congress supporters.
Incidentally, group clashes among the villagers in the area had been continuing for the past few days.
