Company clarifies on Minister controversy

Puducherry,Mar 24(UNI)Agate International Private Limited, which moved the court against Education Minister M O H F Shajahan, today clarified they did so to get back their money and not with any political motive.

Addressing the press here, Company Director Ravindran said Mr Shajahan was the managing director of Kuthoos Hassan Marickair Company in 1997 when it obtained a loan to the tune of Rs 1.90 crore. Promissory notes,cheques,terms and conditions forms among others were signed by Mr Shajahan and it was unfortunate he claimed to have resigned from the post.

On February two, 2000, Kuthoos Hassan Maraickair had given the land on 90,Kamaraj Saalai to Agate International Private Limited for Rs 88.20 lakh.

However, on August 13,2007,they tried to construct a building on the site which was objected to by Agate and preferred a complaint.

However, no action was taken then since Mr Shajahan was the Minister, he claimed.
