Orissa: 4 killed,6 injured in road accident

Sambalpur, Mar 24: At least four people were killed and six injured, two of them seriously, in an accident on NH 42 near Maneswar under Sadar police station in the district today.

Police said the mishap occurred when a bus collided head-on with another vehicle, carrying the victims, after the driver of the bus lost his control. All the four died on the spot.

The deceased have been identified, police said adding that the victims were returning to Nagpur via Sambalpur after visiting Puri.

The injured were rushed to Sambalpur district headquarter hospital.

Police said the bus was on its way to Sambalpur from Bhubaneswar and some of the passengers inside also sustained minor injuries.

The bus driver was at large and efforts were on to nab him, police said.
