Tension in Jharkhand over group clash
Jamshedpur, Mar 23 (UNI) Tension prevailed at Shashtrinagar under Kadma police station here today following a group clash between members of two communities and an eve-teasing incident.
Police said the situation was under control and the Rapid Action Force has been deployed in the area.
The trouble erupted on Friday night when two youths attacked another of a rival community with a broken bottle, injuring him critically. He was rushed to hospital, police said.
As tension prevailed in the area some youths, celebrating Holi, started teasing women, who were taking bath in the river yesterday.
The situation turned violent as members of both the group pelted stones at each other, before the situation turned worse, the police dispersed the violent mob and the RAF was called to tackle the situation.
Police rounded-up some anti-socials following the incident and said the situation was still tense but under-control.
