Security up for Naxal in jail in Tamil Nadu

Pudukottai, Tamil Nadu, Mar 23:Security at the Sub-Jail here was tightened after reports indicated that a top Naxal leader lodged there might attempt to escape.

Police said Madhu, arrested during combing operations with some of his colleagues at a hill near Theni, was lodged in the Sub-Jail here.

Following the information that he might attempt to escape, police tightened the security in and around the prison.

He was kept in a high security cell manned by armed guards, police added.
