Puducherry budget on Mar 27

Puducherry, Mar 23 (UNI) Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy holding the finance portfolio will present the annual budget for 2008-09 in the territorial Assembly on March 27.

The budget session of the Assembly will commence here on March 25 with the customary address by the Lt Governor Bhopinder Singh.

Much is being expected from the budget which will be the first after the Union Territory opened a State account with the Reserve Bank of India and the second in the 11th Plan period.

Meanwhile, Mr Rangasamy had a round of discussion with the senior officials.
