Prohibitory orders in Aland town extended till tomorrow
Bangalore, Mar 23 (UNI) The district administration today extended prohibitory orders under section 144 in Aland town, in Gulbarga District of Karnataka till tomorrow as precautionary measure.
Tension erupted in Aland town following communal clash during Holi celebrations.
Official sources said that 21 people, allegedly invovled in group clash, were arrested and were remanded to judicial custody.
The sources said that the trouble started when a section of holi revelers in the town spread colours into the wall of a place of worship. This led to stone pelting in which scores of people suffered injuries. Some miscreants torched a bus belonging to State owned Corporation and situation was brought to control by the timely intervention of the police.
While Aland town, which is bordering Maharashtra was brought to normalcy but remain tense. The police have apprehended as many as 21 persons allegedly involved in stone pelting and arson.
