Minor's rapist and murderer arrested

Pune, Mar 23 (UNI) The body of an eight-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped and murdered by her neighbour, was found here today and the accused was subsequently arrested by the police.

According to police, a complaint was registered today by the deceased's father, saying one Suresh Vishwakarma (30) took his daughter under the pretext of giving her a chocolate on March 21 but both did not return till evening.

The complaint also stated that Suresh had taken the girl to Kothrud hilltop where he raped and subsequently killed her.

A native of Nepal, the accused was staying at Wadgaosheri, police added.

On interrogation, Suresh confessed his crime. He revealed that he had given Rs 1000 to the girl's father, who did not return the amount on time. Suresh later took revenge by raping and killing his daughter, police said.
