Karkala and Gurumitkal records 15 cms heavy rainfalls

Bangalore, Mar 23 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recordedby the weather office here at 0830 hrs today.

Rainfall occurred at most places over the State.

Very heavy rainfall amounts(cm): Karkala, Gurumitkal 15 each; Kalasa 14; Koppal 13.

Heavy rainfall amounts(cm): Mudubidre, Badami, Sedam 12 each; Sringeri 11; Panabur, Mani, Naragunda, Bagewadi, Deodurga, Kottigehara 10 each; Mnagalore AP, Haveri, Tavaregere, Alamatti, Jayapura, 9 each; Dharmasthala, Sulya, Belgaum AP, Kukanoor, Gabbur, Mudgal, Talaguppa, Kammardi, Chikmagalur 8 each; Mulki, Puttur, Banavasi, Kudlasangam, Sulepet, Kakkeri, Narayanapura 7 each.

Maximum temperatures makedly fell at most places over the State. They were markedly below normal at most places over the State. Minimum temperatures change little over the State. They were below normal at a few places over the State.

Karwar recorded highest maximum temperature of 31.2 degree celsius and Davanagere recorded lowest minimum temperature of 19.2 degree celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Tuesday morning: Rain/thundershowers likelly to occur at many places over the the State.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at many places over all the districts of the State, Heavy Rainfall Warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka; North Interior Karnataka and Ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 24 hours.

Fisheriesl Warning: Strong winds speed from westerly direction to easterly direction speed reaching 45-55 kmph likely along off Karnataka Coast during next 24 hours.

Outlook for subsequent two days: Decrease in rainfall is expected over the State.

Forecast for Bangalore: Generally cloudy. One or two spells of rain likely. Maximum and minimum temperature would be around 28 and 20 degrees celsius respectively.
