IGNOU seminar on sustainable development
New Delhi, Mar 23 (UNI) The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is organising an international seminar on 'Issues in public policy and sustainable development' here next week.
The three day conference would focus on options before the public policy for sustainable development in the presence of Millennium Development Goals. Considering the prevalence of policies at international, national and local levels, it aims at undertaking their evaluation and explore the options of reformulation for achieving the goals set therein.
The proposed seminar also aims to explore how different analytical and evaluation tools and approaches can contribute to sustainable development.
The basic theme of the conference is rooted in Agenda 21 of the Earth Summit, 1992. The major subject matters to be covered include: Social and Economic dimensions, conservation of natural resources, role of major social groups and implementation strategy.
The seminar would be held between March 26 and 28.
