Administration asks PGI technologists to resolve issues

Chandigarh, Mar 23: The Chandigarh Administration has asked the PGI technologists to amicably resolve their issues with the PGI management instead of going for mass casual leave as health is a "public utility service".

The technologists have given a call for mass casual leave from March 24 to March 26 to press for early settlement of their demands/issues pending with the PGI management.

As the service of the PGI Technologists is public utility service, the issues should be resolved amicably in the larger public interest and refrain from proceeding on mass casual leave, an official release here today stated.

The proposed action of the technologists would adversely affect the "care services" to the public in general and the needy patients in particular, the release said.

The release further said that the Chandigarh Administration was already seized of the matter and all steps are being taken at the appropriate level to resolve the matter so as to avoid inconvenience to the patients and the public.
