'Pakal Pooram' held at Mahadevar Temple
Kottayam, Mar 22 (UNI) 'Pakal Pooram', a replica of the famous 'Thrissur Pooram' was organised at Thirunakkara Mahadevar temple here today.
Thousands of devotees thronged the temple braving heavy summer rains to witness the extravaganza.
Eleven caparisoned elephants added grandeur to the festival.
The atmosphere reverberated with 'Chenda Melam' (playing of percussion instrument).
Thiruvambady and Paramekkavu Devaswoms staged the 'Kudamattom' (display of ornamental umbrellas) ritual.
