Man murdered by nephews

Basirhat, Mar 22 (UNI) A 72-year old man was killed by his nephews at Chhotodoara village under Sandeshkhali police station in North 24 Parganas.

Police said here today that the victim Defaraj Mallik was physically assaulted following altercations with his three nephews and their mother yesterday.

Sirajul Mallick, along with his two brothers and mother, got involved in a heated dispute with his uncle and beat up him severely, killing Defaraj on the spot.

Later, police arrested Sirajul and his mother. However, his brothers managed to flee.

A murder case was registered and an investigation started, police added.
