Holi celebrated with fervour in the region
Chandigarh, Mar 22 (UNI) 'Holi', the festival of colours was celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh Union Territory today.
The people revelled in colour hooliganisam by throwing lac dye and coloured water at each others. Youths, with their faces smeared with colours, drove on two whealers to celebrate the festival with friends and relatives and share rejoicing.
The holi spirit was among children, who throw water balloons on passers-by in streets and on main roads at several places in the region.
In Chandigarh, the amazing preprations made for celebrating the festival can be visualised by the quantity of colours used. The festival synchronises with advent of the spring.
