Group clash in Rajasthan leaves scores injured
Jaipur, Mar 22 (UNI) Several people, including five police personnel, were injured in a clash between two communities in Tonk town of Rajasthan today.
The clash broke out after a group of Holi revellers, belonging to the Gujjar community, started abusing outside the religous place of the other community. The incident took a communal turn, leading to a group clash, a police spokesman told UNI.
The police burst tear gas shells and resorted to lathicharge to quell the mob. The mob pelted the police with stones and tried to set afire shops.
The situation was now under control. Additional police force had been deployed in the town as precautionary measure.
