Crocodile-victim's body recovered
Basirhat, Mar 22: Police recovered the body of a 32-year old woodcutter, who was attacked by a crocodile, from Dakshinchara river of Sunderban area in North 24 Parganas.
Police said here today that the victim, Ansar Gazi, from the Kalitala area under Haingalgunj police station in North 24 Parganas, was bathing in the river on March 20 when the incident occurred.
Forest workers witnessed Ansar becoming the crocodile's victim, police said.
Later, his body was found floating in the river with the arms and legs missing, police added.
