Counterfeit currency seized, two held

Bhopal, Mar 22 (UNI) Police have seized 90 fake notes of Rs 500 face value and arrested two people in this connection.

Police received a tip-off that Sagar-resident Shahnaz alias Shanno was going to the Ashoka Garden area to deliver bundles of fake notes to Shakeel Khan alias Pappu.

On the basis of the information, both were arrested on March 21 and fake notes seized from them.

Shanno was involved in the fake currency racket along with her brother-in-law Mehboob, who lives in Jabalpur. Shakeel worked as agent for them for circulating the currency.

It was not known from where Mehboob obtained fake notes. Police had gone to Jabalpur in search of Mehboob.

Mehboob is wanted in connection with several cases in Jabalpur also.
