Work on 'Jalaswarangamarg' from Mar 23

Tirumala, Mar 21 (UNI) Work on 'Jalaswarangamarg,' an irrigation project taken up by the Andhra Pradesh Government from Srisailam to Nallagonda district, would commence from March 23, Irrigation and Medium Irrigation Minister Ponnalla Lakshimaiah said today.

Talking to newspersons after offering prayers at the Sri Venkateswara temple here, the Minister said the project would be inaugurated by Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy at Srisailam in Kurnool district.

Of the 49 irrigation projects taken up by the state government, 35 projects had been completed and another two would be completed in two or three months.

The remaining projects were expected to be completed by 2009, he added.
