City receives record rain
Mysore, Mar 21(UNI) The unseasonal rainfall in and around the city till last night with 40 mm had created a record, unwitnessed in the past four decades.
The quantum of rainfall on a single day on March 16 was 13 mm. It was expected that moderate to heavy rainfall would occur in the next four days, Weather officials said.
The highest rainfall recorded in the recent years was just 14 mm.
The Naganahalli Agricultural Research Station, on the outskirts of the city, had recorded a rainfall of six mm on March 13, 12 on March 15, 12 on March 16 and 1.4 on March 17.
Though the unseasonal rains would not affect regular crops, it would have an adverse effect on the growth of vegetables and pulses.
These
rains
do
not
have
any
effect
on
the
monsoon
and
pre-monsoon
rains.

temperature,
good
monsoon
rains
were
expected
this
year,
they
