UP govt to set up textile park in Gorakhpur

Lucknow, Mar 20 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government today decided to set up an intregrated Textile Park at Gorakhpur to revive the industry in the eastern parts of the State.

The decision was taken by the State Cabinet here.

The proposed Textile Park would be set up under the Central government 'Scheme for Intregrated Textile Park' programme .

An agreement between the Gorakhpur Texpark Private Limited and Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority would be done for the land required for the purpose.

According to the details of the proposed Textile Park, Textile Park Infrastructure Development Project would be set up under public and private sector participation.

Under this scheme, the Centre would give financial aid of 40 per cent of the total cost of the project and maximum of Rs 40 crore.

The rest of the fund required for the project could be sought through loans and other means.

The proposed Textile Park would have 50 weaving unit, 20 Garment/Embroidery units, 2 processing units, 2 spinning units and six other units. Besides this, park would generate direct employment for 3,500 people and indirect employment for 5,000 people.

In another decision, the UP government has expanded the limit of Muzaffarnagar Development Area with inclusion of 88 villages.
