Shamshabad Airport announces concessions on UDF

Hyderabad, Mar 20 (UNI) Within hours after clearance from Union Ministry of Civil Aviation to start commerical operations from wee hours of March 23, GMR-Hyderabad International Airport (GHIAL) announced concessions on user and parking charges for the initial week at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad, about 35 km from here.

In an apparent move to assuage the concern of passengers and local taxi operators, GHAIL said it would cut down the user development fund (UDF) charges to Rs 250 for international-bound passengers for five days and allow free parking for a week.

Prior to inauguration on March 14, it announced Rs 1,000 as UDF on each passenger boarding International flight from the airport.

''GMR Hyderabad International Airport (GHIAL) is pleased to announce the UDF and car parking fee would not be levied immediately after the commencement of commerical operations on March 23, 2008.

'The UDF of 25 dollar per outbound internationl pasenger will be charged only from March 28.

Car parking would be free for everyone for the first full week from March 23.
