RS bribe: BJP complains to ECI
Bhopal, Mar 20 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party today complained to the Election Commission of India (ECI) regarding Samajwadi Party legislator Kishor Samrite being allegedly offered a bribe of Rs 25 lakh by the Congress for voting in favour of independent candidate Vivek Krishna Tankha ahead of Rajya Sabha elections from Madhya Pradesh.
''A 12-point letter was sent to the ECI. The Congress even sent Rs 10 lakh to Mr Samrite's residence. The MLA alleged that Mr Tankha, Leader of the Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Jamuna Devi, Congress MLA Rajendra Singh and former minister N P Prajapati offered the bribe,'' said a BJP release issued here.
A memorandum was submitted to the Chief Election Officer by BJP MLAs Umashankar Gupta and Jitendra Singh Bundela.
