Ralanthung elected Dy Speaker of Nagaland Assembly

Kohima, Mar 20 (UNI) Ralanthung Yanthan of Nagaland Peoples Front (NPF) was today declared elected unopposed as Deputy Speaker of the 11th Legislative Assembly.

Speaker Kiyanilie Peseyie informed the House that two nomination papers were received and both were in favour of Mr Ralanthung, who was elected from Sanis Constituency under Wokha district.

Leader of the House Neiphiu Rio and Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader I Imkong congratulated Mr Ralanthung for his election to the post of Deputy Speaker.

Earlier, in the Obituary Reference, the Speaker announced the names of legendary politician and former Chief Minister Vizol.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also made the obituary reference of Mr Vizol and the House observed two minutes silence for the peace of the departed soul.

Later the House adopted the Motion of Thanks on the Governor's Address, which was moved by MLA Vikho-o Yhoshu and seconded by another member C L John.

The Speaker then adjourned the House till Saturday morning.
