Probe into missing funds in nursing college on: Health minister

Aizawl, Mar 20 (UNI) Mizoram Health Minister R Tlanghmigthanga today told the Assembly that a probe into the misappropriation of Rs five lakhs from state's College of Nurning was on.

However, Zoram Nationalist Party MLA Andrew Lalherliana alleged that at least Rs 90 lakh were missing from the college.

The Health Minister told the House that the reports of the inquiry committee set up for this purpose had been forwarded to the Anti-corruption Branch and to the finance department for special audit and necessary actions.

Reply to the question of Andrew Lalherliana, he said no fund has been received except for upgradation of the nursing college amounting to Rs 50 lakh.

He assured the members of the House to take all necessary action against the culprits.

However, he failed to satisfy Congress MLA R Lalzirliana, who alleged that the MNF government always delayed in conducting any investigation.
