Bar Council seeks land, corpus fund of Rs 10 cr

Hyderabad, Mar 20 (UNI) The Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh today urged the State Government to allocate five acres of land for building its own premises.

Bar Council Chairman A Narasimha Reddy, in a memorandum submitted to Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, also sought provision of Rs 2,000 as monthly stipend for junior advocates, a corpus fund of Rs 10 crore for implementing various welfare schemes and allotment of house sites to all deserving advocates.

Stating that the Bar Council, at present was housed in a small building within the High Court complex which had become inadequate even for administrative purposes, he requested the government to allocate five acres of land in a centrally located place in the city, which would provide easy accessibility to its members, a release here said.
