Actor condoled:politicians, artistes express grief

Hyderabad, Mar 20 (UNI) The Telugu film industry and political leaders here expressed shock over the demise of well-known Telugu actor Sobhan Babu who died of cardiac arrest at the Apollo Hospitals in Chennai today.

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Information and Public relations and Cinematography Aanam Ramanarayana Reddy expressed shock and grief over the death of Sobhan Babu.

He said in a statement that the Telugu film industry lost a great actor .

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee incharge President G S Rao, expressing grief over said Sobhan Babu made his debut in films through 'Daivabalam' and rose to the top to bag many awards, including filmfare and Nandi. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family.

Movie Association of Andhra Pradesh President Nagababu, Secretary Mallikarjuna Rao and several film personalities, including thespian A Nageswara Rao, Krishna, Krishnam Raju, Murali Mohan, heroines Jayaprada and Jayasudha, who had played the lead opposite Sobhan Babu in many films, expressed shock and grief over his death.

Sobhan Babu reigned supreme in the Telugu film industry for decades, they said.

Prominent Director, Producer and Union Minister of State for Coal Dasari Narayana Rao and Producer D Rama Naidu also expressed shock over the actor's death.

Several film personalities had left for Chennai to pay their last respects to the departed actor.
