Vasantsindhu award for playwright Girish Joshi
Nashik, Mar 19 (UNI) Renowned playwright, director-actor Girish Joshi will be honoured with 'Vasantsindhu' of the Vasantsindhu Centre for Performing Arts.
The award is instituted by the Centre in memory of renowned playwright Vasant Kanetkar since 2006. The award will be presented in a glittering ceremony at the hands of playwright and previous winners of the award, P L Mayekar on Mr Vasant's birth anniversary that falls on Mar 21.
Veteran Marathi actor Prabhakar Panshikar will preside over the ceremony. The award comprises of Rs 11,000 cash, memento and citation.
Mr Joshi is also the winner of 'Natyadarpan' award for best story and direction in 1995. He is famous for his drama ''Makdachya Hati Champagne''. He has also won 'Zee Gaurav' award for the story of Marathi movie 'Kadachit'.
