Series of programmes on TV ringing in Holi fervour
New Delhi, Mar 19 (UNI) As the country gets ready to celebrate the festival of colours on Saturday, the small screen space is all set to soak in the vibrant colours of Holi.
It will be festival time on various television shows this week as the characters in programmes being aired on various television channels revel in the spirit of the festival of colours.
Tomorrow's episode of 'Bhabhi', the popular afternoon show on Star Plus, will witness the Thakral parivaar and the Chopra parivaar celebrate the festive season of Holi notwithstanding the hurdles and obstacles faced by them.
The Holi celebrations on 'Bhabhi', which last week saw the return of Rucha Gujrati, the actress who played the title role earlier before she was replaced by Kanchi Kaul, follow the celebration of the festival of colours on NDTV Imagine wherein characters of the various shows like 'Radha Ki Betiyan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi', 'Ek Packet Umeed' and 'Nach Le Ve' rang in the Holi fervour in a special programme 'Holi Aayi Re'.
Like 'Bhabhi', other shows on Star Plus and Star One like 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi bahu thi', 'Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki', 'Dil Mil Gaye' and 'Anu Ki Ho Gayi Wah Bhai Wah' celebrate Holi with traditional fervour marking the festival of colours.
'Idea Dhoom Macha De' on NDTV Imagine too celebrates the colors and traditions of India this week.
A special episode of the reality show will have popular singing superstars Richa Sharma, Baba Sehgal, Jasbir Jassi, Babul Supriyo, Jaspinder Narula, Kamaal Khan and Devang Patel showcase melodious performances on folk songs, from the state they belong to be telecast on Friday at 2030 hrs, the special episode titled "Colours of India" will see comedian Raju Shrivastav co-host the show along with Malaika Arora. With Raju's wisecracks and some soul stirring performances by the artists on popular folk songs this episode is sure to leave the audiences asking for more.
The highlights of the show will be Kamaal Khan performing 'Chalat Musafir Moh Liyo Re' in true Bihari style, suprising the judges.
Devang will have the audience swaying as he sings Gujarati folk songs like 'Sanedo' and 'Halo Saamro'. Jaspinder, Baba and Jassi stick to their Punjabi roots as they dish out some heartwarming performances on songs like 'Suniyo ji', 'Kesariya Balam', 'Kurti Malmal Di', 'Pallo Latke', 'Mirza' and 'Gori Mere Gaon Ki' in their unique style.
It will be Holi time on the '9X' channel too tomorrow as protagonists of its various shows like 'Jiya Jale', 'Kahe Na Kahe' and 'Kya Dil Mein Hein' celebrate the festival of colour with its traditional fervour.
