Reference rate at Rs 40.45 per USD

Mumbai, Mar 19 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India fixed the reference rate for the USD today at Rs 40.45, down 17 paise as compared to its yesterday's rate.

The exchange rates for Great Britain's Pound and Japanese Yen against the Rupee were Rs 81.2054 per pound and Rs 40.72 per 100 yen respectively, RBI said in a release.
