PMRY scheme achievements reviewed
Chandigarh, Mar 19 (UNI) A state-level Committee meeting was held today under the Chairmanship of Union Territory Home and Industries Secretary Krishna Mohan to review the achievements of the Prime Minister's Rojgar Yojana (PMRY).
The Centre through the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises had taken a serious note on the low performance of the PMRY and urged to follow a focused and balanced approach towards achieving the targets, allotted to various banks.
The banks which had not achieved targets were advised during the meeting to sponsor cases at their own within this financial year.
During the financial year 2007-08, the Centre had allocated a target of 150 cases under the PMRY scheme. However, the Task Force Committee sponsored 188 cases to various banks which sanctioned 96 cases and disbursed money to only 39 cases.
In the meeting, role of the Punjab National Bank and UCO Bank who had achieved their targets was highly appreciated.
