Nagaland Deputy Speaker poll tomorrow

Kohima, Mar 19 (UNI) The election for the post of Deputy Speaker in the 11th Nagaland Legislative Assembly will be held tomorrow in the ongoing Budget Session.

Assembly secretary N Benjamir Newmai, in a memorandum issued here today, said the nomination papers for the post of Deputy Speaker will be received till 1200 hrs today and the last date of withdrawal of nomination papers will be 0900 hrs tomorrow.

Out of 35 supporters of the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN), 34 members have already been appointed in various posts - Speaker, 12 Ministers, 13 Parliamentary Secretaries while eight MLAs were accommodated as Chairmen of various Public Sector Units.

However, NPF Legislator Ralanthung, who was elected from the Sanis Assembly constituency under Wokha district, did not have any portfolio so far and he was likely to be the DAN candidate for the post of Deputy Speaker, party sources said.
