Hykon launches device to tide over power quality problems
Kochi, Mar 19 (UNI) Kerala-based Hykon Power Electronics Private Ltd, one of the leading players in power electronics in India, has launched the latest version of the Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC), which helps to solve power quality problems.
A company release here today said the new device enabled large-scale establishments like IT parks and other industrial establishments to tide over the power quality problems and minimise electrical pollution by reducing voltage fluctuations and variations.
Hykon's Chairman and Managing Director Christo George said ''the effect of major power quality problems like harmonics and power factor lead to reduced motor life, fall in capacity, breakdowns, overheating and faulty timings. The UPQC has an Integrated Gate Bipolar Transister (IGBT) based Pulse with Modulation (PWM) Voltage Source Converter (VSC) technology which maintains grid power factor near to unity and brings down maximum demand (MD-KVA).
