DD outsourcing to improve quality of Urdu channel
New Delhi, Mar 19 (UNI) Quality software from top producers of the field of production, film-making, culture, literature and media is being sourced to improve the quality of the Urdu channel, which has been allocated Rs 15.00 crore for the year 2007-08, the Rajya Sabha was informed today.
Twenty one Urdu knowing people have been given contract jobs in this channel. Effective packaging, outsourcing are some of the steps taken to popularise the channel, Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs P R Dasmunsi told the Rajya sabha in a written reply.
DD Urdu is already available in Doordarshan's free to air DTH service. In addition to that, Prasar Bharati has notified DD Urdu channel for mandatory carriage by the cable operators/multi system operators (MSOs) in all states and Union Territories, the Minister said.
