Country's second solar crematorium in Patna
Patna, Mar 19 (UNI) The Bihar administration has decided to set up a a solar crematorium here by the end of 2009 thus putting the state next to Gujarat in this regard.
Official sources said recent research works by International Solar Energy Society on Solar Crematorium has proved that it would be successful.
Solar crematorium has shown positive results during experiments on animal flesh in the past six years, sources added.
The sources informed that manufacturing and compilation of requisite solar components were being carried out at Phulwarisharif based workshop in the state capital.
Installation of one unit of solar crematorium might cost about Rs 30 lakh. However it could be reduced if manufactured on commercial basis with the subsidy of the government, sources added.
It will be less expensive than electric crematorium as well as eco-friendly. The crematorium will be useful in broad daylight only, sources further said.
